Terms & Safety Policy
Effective Date: 6 January 2026
- Nature of Services & Equipment Rentals: La Balloonerie provides bespoke balloon installations that often include the use of specialized hardware, frames, and decorative bases. All such hardware remains the exclusive property of La Balloonerie and is provided on a rental basis for the duration of your event.
- Health & Allergy Notice:
- Latex Allergies: Our installations primarily use natural rubber latex balloons. Latex is a known allergen.
- Client Duty to Disclose: It is the sole responsibility of the Client to inform La Balloonerie of any known latex allergies among guests or staff prior to the installation.
- Indemnification: The Client agrees to hold La Balloonerie harmless from any claims or medical emergencies arising from undisclosed allergies or the improper handling of balloons by guests.
- Safety, Choking Hazards & Broken Pieces:
- Supervision: Balloons are a choking hazard. Children and pets must be supervised at all times.
- Broken Pieces: If a balloon pops during the event, the Client is responsible for immediately collecting and disposing of the fragments to prevent accidents.
- Notification: Please notify La Balloonerie if a significant portion of the installation is damaged or pops during the event so we can prepare accordingly for the strike (deconstruction).
- Installations, Maintenance & Strike Service:
- The Strike: La Balloonerie will return to the event location at a pre-arranged time to perform a “Strike” (professional deconstruction). During this time, we will deflate balloons and reclaim all rental hardware.
- Hardware Care: The Client is responsible for the safety of all rental hardware (frames, weights, stands) from the time of installation until the artist returns for the strike. Any lost or significantly damaged hardware may result in replacement fees.
- Waste Management: While we aim to gather all materials, any broken balloon fragments collected during the event by the client should be disposed of in regular waste.
- Environmental Responsibility: We are committed to the “Pin it and Bin it” philosophy. We do not support or perform intentional balloon releases. All balloons used are gathered by our team during the strike and disposed of or recycled responsibly.
- Longevity & Weather:
- Indoor: We guarantee the appearance of our installations for the day of the event.
- Outdoor: Balloons exposed to the Montreal climate (sun, wind, heat) will “oxidize” and may expand/pop. La Balloonerie is not liable for changes in the installation’s appearance due to weather once the setup is complete.
- Booking, Deposits & Cancellations:
- Retainer: A non-refundable retainer (deposit) of 50% is required to secure your event date and reserve the necessary rental hardware.
- Cancellations: NEEDS REVIEW BASED ON EXISTING CONTRACTS + TALKS AND FIGURING IT OUT WITH THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESS.
- Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec. Any disputes shall be heard in the District of Montreal.
